Territorial network

We at Popoli Insieme have always worked by building partnerships and valuing the exchange of ideas with others, local and not, who are active in receiving migrants and refugees, as well as in immigration in general.

Values and collaboration

The Jesuit Refugee Service is an international Catholic organization, active in 52 countries, whose mission is to accompany, serve and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons.

In particular, over the years it has become clear that the work carried out by groups tied to Ignatian Spirituality is important in terms of quality and quantity and present throughout Italy. In 2000, on occasion of our ten-year anniversary celebrations, the decision was made to include Popoli Insieme in the territorial network of the Astalli Center Foundation and the Jesuit Refugee Service, making it possible to advance common projects, work together in all of the national territory, giving value to everyone’s contribution, pursuing the same objectives and aspiring to the same values.

We now have a consolidated collaboration regarding cultural projects, in particular those that involve students at schools and raising awareness in society on topics of common interest. However, the network also allows experimenting new projects of first and second level welcoming, transferring the experience of those who have been involved in the service longer in different contexts, as well as continuously exchanging best practices in training operators and volunteers.
